Mr. President welcomed everyone to our 2021 prize presentation evening on Saturday. An excellent attendance highlighted the feel good factor at the Club. Our 2021 Major winners were presented with their trophies supported by family and friends in what had been record entries into the respective club competitions, making this years achievements even more meritorious. 12 months ago and in the middle of the pandemic the new world handicap system came into play and whether you love it or hate it, it seems it’s here to stay. From the clubs perspective communicating this to the membership was helped by the sub committee formed to explain the changes, unfortunately the pandemic meant we couldn’t hold a member evening as had been planned. Despite this, Jason and Chantelle Shaw in particular had put many hours into helping communicate the changes to the membership and in recognition were awarded the Captain’s prize for 2020-21. Congratulations to all prizewinners throughout the golfing year.
