Apologies for plagiarism, stealing the title from the Strawbs hit record in 1977: it’s going to be a long time before we get back to the old routine but at least we are back out on the golf course. Gary and Sam kept up with the course during lockdown, following the instructions given by a joint directive from the R&A, England Golf, the PGA and BIGGA, the greenkeepers professional body. Tees, fairways, the first cut of rough, greens and aprons were attended to, and anyone who has played the course since last Wednesday will have appreciated the work that they carried out. I went out to help the lads on Wednesday and it was nice to see the team back and also nice to see golfers out on the course. As this current phase of lockdown continues it was interesting to see the male players coming through: there seems to be a mix of ‘hairstyles’, with some coming through copying 2009 Open winner Stewart Cink and the rest starting to copy Tommy Fleetwood. The sooner the hairdressers/barbers are able to open, the better!! click here to view Gary’s latest report and enjoy your golf. Stuart Charlesworth – Greens Director.
