Mr. President and our retiring Captain, John Atha welcomed members and guests to the 2022 Captain’s Inauguration on Saturday evening. Prior to the commencement of proceedings, Adrian from the POW Hospice accepted a donation of £2,443 in support of the local community, retaining the strong connection the Club has with the hospice. After accepting the chain of office our incoming Captain John Beevers was honoured to accept the Past Captain’s nomination. John’s family have a long association with the Club, now 3rd generation, following his Grandfather Jack Wilkins and Father Tony. Mr. Captain looked forward to representing the Club in the many events, both golfing and social throughout 2023 and in supporting the other section captain’s, June Highley (Ladies) Peter Hale (Seniors), Eric Armstrong (Rabbits) Tom Stanley (Tigers) and Teagan Harper (Juniors). Mr. Captain also welcomed David Hartas, Past Captain and President who was bestowed an Honorary Membership for his services to the Club. David thanked everyone and was proud to have been associated with the Club for many years, witnessing the many successes our Members had achieved at the Club and in representing the Yorkshire region.
