I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who made my Captain’s weekend such a wonderful occasion. Firstly, on the golfing front the course was in fantastic condition and provided a true test of golf on Saturday and Sunday. This is a tribute to the hard work put in by our head greenkeeper Gary Anderson and his team (Sam, Phil, Josh, and James) ably supported by the ‘Dirty Dozen’. Many thanks to all of them and my congratulations to the winners of the competitions on both days. Then on the social front we had the Captain’s Ball on Saturday evening which was a masquerade theme and it was my pleasure to host. The room was beautifully decorated, the 3-course meal was splendidly prepared and served by Ryan and his team and was followed by the amazing Freddie Mercury tribute act. It was great to spend the evening among so many good friends in a wonderful atmosphere. On Sunday myself and my partner Debbie provided refreshments to the golfers by the side of the 8th green. Fortunately, the early rain abated, and it was great to meet and greet everyone in lovely sunny weather. Thanks to everyone’s generosity we raised over £220 for my charity, Prostate Cancer. Just a reminder that my Big Golf Challenge is on Thursday 22nd June when I will be playing 72 holes in aid of prostate cancer. Many thanks to all those who have sponsored me and for the supportive words I have received so far. If anyone else wants to sponsor me my JustGiving page can be accessed by  clicking here or there is a sponsor form in the 19th. We will begin the first round at 5.00 am and will continue through the day. If anyone wants to come along and provide morale support, then you are most welcome.
