Hi everyone. I just wanted to say a massive thankyou to all the members who took part in my weekend competitions, it was great to meet so many of you yesterday and put faces to names at the halfway house. Thankyou for the generous donations to my chosen charity the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and how appropriate that the yellow helicopter flew over the course yesterday morning! I can assure you it wasn’t pre-arranged, just more evidence of the great work they do on a daily basis. The Captain’s Ball was a superb evening and Vicki & I have to thank those who helped make it so, you were tremendous. I also have to thank the Greens Team – Gary, Sam, Phil, Paul & Josh for presenting the course in such a fantastic condition. They provided us with a fair but real test of golf as the scoring over the weekend demonstrated. I was delighted that Gary, Sam & Josh along with Stuart Charlesworth were the first team out on Sunday enabling them to personally experience the fruits of their labours. Congratulations to all the prize winners and it was great to personally present extra gifts to the Gents & Ladies victors of the Sunday competition – Tony Lyons & Phil Newman and June Highley & Charlotte Hewison. I am now past the halfway point of my year and it is brilliant to see how the Club is moving forward; the atmosphere and the spirit is terrific and the support I have received is overwhelming. Much more golf to come, let’s continue to enjoy.
