We have now reached the halfway stage of the season with everybody playing each other once, with the reverse fixtures starting next Monday evening when both the Scratch and Nett teams will be playing at home. The season started with an influx of new (younger) blood at Scarcroft, Corey Harrison, Stephen Hogg and Steven Walton all making their debuts, when a promising start was finally washed out with first hail stones and then torrential rain firstly turning the greens white and then completely flooding the greens.  All matches abandoned as a draw and the sun was blazing down during the post-match meal.  The first home game against Wetherby also resulted in a 3-3 draw but this time a proper result with all the golf been completed. The next 3 matches all had the same result a 4-2 win for Pontefract, with 2 of these matches been away from home at City of Wakefield and Horsforth were extremely good results.  Last night match against Woolley Park saw some of the old guard making appearances after the Club Championship weekend took its toil and turned into a very good 6-0 victory to leave PDGC undefeated at the top of the table click here to view. The Nett Knockout cup campaign started with a home win against Temple Newsam only to fall at the second hurdle away at Woolley Park.  The Senior’s team are still in with a chance of retaining the Trophy won last year after a win at home to Waterton Park and a home match against Barnsley next week.
