So the scratch season has come to an end pretty much but the team still have two fantastic opportunities to reach the Leeds and District foursomes final and Scratch Team Knockout final! The foursome fixture is to be decided but the Scratch knockout is on Friday 13th August at Garforth against Temple Newsam and I encourage and wish as many members as possible to make the trip across to support the team in a huge game for the club! We maintained Division One status for another year and hope that with a change of luck can push for the title once again next year! I would like to the opportunity to thank Ian Marshall our club pro and Malcolm Mr. Captain for Sponsoring our balls this year. Finally a huge thank you to Mo Ludwell and his team up at Ludwell Electrical for sponsoring our team shirts and making us look a team this year with the addition of RRC Sports Memorabilia! We were able to look the part and play superb golf home and away all year! Thanks to Jade, Simon and the Catering staff for looking after us! Some superb acknowledgment of the standard of golf played at the club this year was also recognised by Nige McKee who runs the Leeds and District Scratch Team in selecting Daz Walton, Andy Wiltshire and Tom Hough to represent the union in several games this year so well done to those players! As Captain, I thank you the members who have turned out in numbers whilst at home and I hope that this continues in our quest to reach two finals and also for next year! Cheers Rocco
