The Scratch team returned to league action away at Darrington on Monday 12th. The team consisting of Ryan Armitage, Jason Newton and Tom Hough. Ryan went first and after a tough start started to claw back but was sadly too little too late and lost 3&2. Jason was next on a return to Darrington and was sadly beat on the last after a very close game. Tom Hough was last and despite being under par, was beaten convincingly 5&4 by an opponent who was 6 under gross after 14. Looking to right the wrongs of the previous week, the Scratch team were at home to Howley Hall on Monday 19th, with the team of Matthew Beedle, Ryan Armitage and Tom Hough. Matthew went first against their strongest player and had a good match but just missed out 3&1. Ryan went second and again a close game which Ryan calmly won 3&2. Tom was last out and was down throughout the game but won 5 holes in a row at the end to win 3&1. A 4-2 win against howley hall puts Pontefract 1 point off second at the halfway stage. Tonight (26th June) we play Moortown away, update to follow. Monday 3rd July away again at Horsforth. Thankyou for the continued support of the scratch team.
