SENIORS MATCH REPORT HOWLEY HALL V PONTEFRACT AND DISTRICT

I think we were all a little unsure what to expect with playing a match at an away venue with the current restrictions, the planning and staggered timings worked a treat and they will continue for our next match.  With current restrictions we couldn’t congregate inside for our usual post-match meal but Howley had kindly prepared their outside area for at least a socially distanced beer and sandwich. The weather helped immensely. It may have been the Euphoria of getting out and playing on a different course – that we haven’t done in ages – gave everyone a huge lift and reflects the match result. Howley Hall 1 ½ Pontefract and District 4 ½. A Match of note was Glenn Fry and Peter Hale who were dormy 4 down and fought back to halve their match. There was never more than one hole in most matches and we all enjoyed competitive tight games.
