That Monday morning feeling of, (a) it being Monday. (b) Its’ the morning after losing a penalty shootout, (c) Its raining Cats and Dogs and (d) We have a golf match to play against Hickleton away. Regarding the latter I’m never surprised by the tenaciousness of our Seniors playing in some of the wettest conditions I’ve seen this year, at times we were all wetter than an Otters pocket. A huge thank you to all our team and especially Brian Fisher, Jonathan Wigglesworth and Roy Swales for playing at short notice. The result was extremely tight. Hickleton play a combined individual Stableford as opposed to the more traditional matchplay better ball, the result was Hickleton 340 points to Pontefract 330. Having worked out the individual matches the result was 3½ to 2½, having already won our home fixture made the overall result a draw. A great team result. John Gough MBE
