Match Report PDGC Seniors v Cobble Hall (A)
A perfect storm of compressed fixtures saw us competing for players with the Leeds and district match at Horsforth plus our own Rabbits having a match that day too. This meant Seniors to compete in our match at Cobble hall were at a premium and thank you to all who stepped up to the mark. Special thanks to John Austwick, Damien Nelson and Howard Smith for joining the team at very short notice after a couple of late withdrawals due to ill health. We also wish Carl Mosley a stalwart of the seniors – if ever he’s allowed to travel – bon voyage to warmer climes.
On to the result, again it was extremely tight with Cobble hall 3 ½ to Pontefract 2 ½, a great result considering quite a few hadn’t played there before. The matches were played in great spirit and we look forward to welcoming them to Pontefract on 8 July 21. We also pointed out the match is over two legs. John
