At Pontefract & District Golf Club we welcome golfers of all abilities, gender and age.
We give all new members the warmest of welcomes and are on hand at every step of the way to integrate you into the Club in what ever capacity you desire.
Malcolm Huddlestone, our Secretary, has many years experience in the industry and will be able to advise you and answer any questions you may have. Ian Marshall and Josh Whittam, our Pro Shop team will help you integrate with existing members.
For those who enjoy competition golf, membership with us will suit your needs. We have four 18 hole competitions a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, comprising a mix of stableford and medal competitions. In addition, we have regular 9-hole competitions for those who are pressed for time to play the full 18.

*A Country Member must be a bona fide member of another golf club and live more than 25 miles away from Pontefract & District Golf Club.
**Pontefract & District Golf Club operates as a Community Amateur Sports Club. CASC golf clubs offer a membership package that is affordable to persons on a low income. The Club has an affordable golf membership category allowing opportunities to play on four days of the week ie Monday, Thursday and Fridays and on Sundays (pm only). CASC members have full voting rights as currently afforded to full and 5-day playing members. The annual subscription is £599 and is available to persons on very limited income. As such, the applicant applying for this category of membership will need to demonstrate their inability to pay their full fees to the Club.
Except for the Affordable Golf membership and social membership categories, there are additional subscriptions required in addition to the above:
- £18 England Golf/Yorkshire Union Affiliation Fee
- £30 bar levy (20% discount)

The Club offers a range of Membership options designed to meet individual circumstances and your lifestyle requirements. If you would like an informal discussion regarding becoming a member of Pontefract & District Golf Club, please don’t hesitate to call the Club Secretary on 01977 792241. There is no joining fee and new members can apply without being nominated by an existing Member.
If you would like to play the course and experience our Clubhouse hospitality, please let us know. We would ask that you pay a green fee for your introductory round, but this will be refunded if your Membership application is made and is successful.

You will be contacted within a further 5 working days to confirm if your application has been successful and to request payment. You will be provided with a Membership tag to display on your golf bag.

Flexible Membership subscription payment arrangements
The Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) seeking to provide the widest access to play and enjoy the game of golf. As part of this ethos, the Club offers an interest free option to pay the annual membership subscription in six equal monthly instalments commencing on 1 April each year. Please speak to the Club Secretary for more information on this membership benefit.
